Catching Up...

I honestly don't know why I haven't been a good blogger lately... we've been busy but I probably had time to blog. Maybe I haven't been too inspired with anything to to important to blog about, but I do think its a little lame that I only did 2 posts in November! Well December will definitely be much more eventful... maybe too eventful!

Well our house is officially and legally 100% ours! It has been such a long long wait for that day. It was official last week, there was 2 permits to get and an encroachment agreement from the city. Both were done and the permit was approved, it just took so long for all those things to be done! So basically we are beginning reno's now and hope to have our suite (in the basement) done before January, which pushes reno's upstairs needing to be done also (since we are using our old cabinets upstairs for the basement downstairs, and some of the old carpet from up here for down there, etc.) So Jordan finishes work on Dec. 18 for 3 weeks, so he along with some help from my brother will be working very hard! I helped much more with other reno's in our pasts houses we've done, but I feel kind of useless this time. And I do like to help, but being 4 months pregnant and a 1 year to watch there isn't too much I can do (except pick everything out, which I've had done for a while since I've had since August to think about it and live in this house and think how ugly it is and needs to change!)

So this Christmas is going to be odd, I'm going to do some decorating, but it breaks my heart to say I don't think we will be putting a tree up! Unless the carpet gets done right away (we are waiting to here back from our carpet guy) then putting a tree up just means one more thing to move when the carpet is installed. At least my Mom's house is just beautiful and Christmasy, and me and Avery will be spending lots of time over there while our kitchen is gutted and our house in un-livable. It will be a bit of a strange Christmas, but I'm glad we are staying here and not traveling, that would have just added to the craziness.

Right now what I'm looking forward too is next weekend! Me and Jordan are going to Banff, just the 2 of us to celebrate our 5 year anniversary! Its actually on the 18th but that weekend didn't work out, but it will be so nice to have some time together away from our crazy house and relax a little!

Thankfully most of my Christmas shopping is done (except Jordan, hes so hard to buy for) to that stress is out of the way, and my Christmas cards are done and out. So now that they have been mailed to close family and friends here is the Heavenor family 09 Christmas Card!!!

And some recent pictures of what we've been up too... or I guess just Avery! haha, kind of funny when kids come I forget to take pictures of us and just her.

Avery's first pony tail! Her hair is sort of at the mullet stage, but I guess we have to get through that to grow her hair out!

Curlers before Church, it always shocks me she doesn't take them out.

New favourite game of Avery's is playing in blankets!

Getting ready to go run erans with Mom and brave the cold!

Sorry if this post is scattered, that's how I feel my brain is right now with getting ready for Christmas and this renovation. Its alot to just schedule everything so our lives are totally disrupted, which they will be anyways! Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited to have a handy hard working husband that is eager to get it done, as well as make my house much nicer and not so ugly (I'm getting soooo sick of this wallpaper wall!) But I'm excited for when its all over!

Brock's funeral program

I should have posted this with my last post, but I forgot! Here is the program I did for Brock's funeral. Mari didn't want to use the boring one the funeral home did, so I did a more creative one for her I suppose!? It was great too do, man hes a good looking kid!

Front

Back - The printing place had to change the fonts for some reason, so it didn't look exactley like this if you went to the funeral, this one is better!

Side Note - Don't you love nap time, *sigh* I just get so much more done!

Av's first B-Day invite

So because we were moving during Avery's 1st birthday, we are celebrating it over a month after! haha, thank goodness she doesn't know right now when her birthday is! So this is the invite! I just love it, it makes me smile when I see it.

I cant take credit for the idea, I got it from Elizabeth's (see side under "Sites I Enjoy") daughters invite she did. I did do it a bit differently though, her's was mostly just the top part that I copied! Anyways, it should be a fun time!

So we have moved into our house, I love it and can't wait to do some reno's I took some pictures of the house which will become "before" pics. There have been some headaches of moving in here; some things that the seller should have taken care of that they didn't and we just found out about the day before possession. I'll post about that soon, I just don't have time right now since Avery's crawling all over me. I guess I should go be a mom!

Happy Easter!

Well I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! We sure did, well aside from the fact that Jordan caught my cold / flu of death! So unfortunately he was under the weather, but he was still a trooper and we still managed to do some things as a family.

Friday we went swimming at the Sherwood Park pool (which I haven't been too forever) and it was lots of fun! Avery is a little fish, and gets so giddy in the water. Its so cute, and she loved having her daddy there. We go often during the week with some girlfriends in there kids, but Jordan's always at work. So it was fun to have him there.

And then Saturday we did some shopping and had lunch with my parents at Chili's.

And then Sunday we had a yummy Easter dinner at my parents house with some of our extended family. Lots of fun!

I went a little over board with posting pictures. Before we went to church Jordan took some pictures of Avery in her Easter outfit and me. There were just too many good ones to choose from! And there are so many of me and Avery because Jordan was still in sweats and grubby. So we had my mom take a picture of us as a family that night at her house after he has cleaned up a little, haha. Jordan was so sick he wasn't able to come to church with us, and Jordan never misses Church or work for being sick! Hopefully he feels better soon!

And Avery is just a riot lately! Its not like she was a grumpy baby before, but shes evolved into this happy baby lately! So easy to make laugh and smile, and army crawling around and baby talking up a storm! I really love this age!

Me & my girl!

Photo announcements / cards

Well I've realized I have not blogged in March yet! So this is just a quick post, until later tonight I'll have more time (once my little monkey... I mean princess is in bed) to update you all on our lives, and I'm going to post some more scrapbook pages and some pics.
So since I've entered the digital scrapbooking world I've started doing some photo cards / announcements. It started for Avery's birth announcement and thank yous, and then I've done some wedding thank yous and Christmas cards for some close friends and family.
I thought I'd post some of what I've done over the last few months for myself and some others. Its fun to do, especially when the pictures are so beautiful themselves!

2008 Heavenor family Christmas card

Okay blogger friends (and other friends can respond through facebook or email.) I need help from your creative minds! I know this is a little early, but I've sort of become obsessed with digital scrapbooking! I know... I never thought those words would come out of my mouth! I will explain.

I have been a pretty intense scrapbooking for almost 10 years! When digital scrapbooking was introduced I was very opposed to it because I was trying to hold onto the old fashioned way and I did not think you could be creative and express your talent doing the digital way.

Well I bought a program earlier this year with the purpose of doing things like announcements (when Avery arrived) and thank you cards, things like that. Well as I've realized it does still require creativity and there are many cool things you can do that are harder to do when doing the old fashioned way of scrapbooking. So to my surprise I have decided to switch to digital scrapbooking soon (I have some pictures developed right now that I'm working on, so once I'm done those pages I turn over to digital.) I know, this is a life changing decision... jk!

Also my husband is happy about this decision as it will save quite a bit of money on supplies. Basically I will just have to pay to have my pages printed now! Anyways, that's my thoughts on that.

Now back to the beginning paragraph, I need your creative minds opinions. Yes, this is early but ever since we've been married I've wanted to do the photo Christmas card to family and friends but sort of wanted to wait until we had kids (nothing against couple photo Christmas cards, thats just me!)

Well we have Avery now! So I've created 3 photo Christmas cards for this year and I really cannot choose which one I like best. So please tell me which you prefer. And for those of you who will receive one in the mail, I'm sorry I've sort of wrecked the surprise of what it will look like! Just think of it that you got a sneak peak!

Thanks, let me know which you like.
